The GOAT OTT Release: The Greatest Of All Time, starring Thalapathy Vijay and directed by Venkat Prabhu, is set to make its theatrical debut on September 5, 2024. As fans eagerly await the film’s debut, OTT viewers will be treated to an unexpected twist.
In a recent interview, Venkat Prabhu revealed that the original cut of The GOAT ran a hefty 3 hours and 20 minutes. However, to fit the standard feature film length, over 18 minutes of footage were trimmed for the theatrical release. The final film, now at 3 hours and 3 minutes, has received a U/A certificate.

But here’s the good news: the extended edit, which includes all of the moments that did not make it to theatres, will soon be accessible on Netflix. Prabhu stated that these additional sequences feature comic moments featuring Vijay’s younger role that were eliminated to streamline the film. However, the date of the PTT release is not out yet.
The biggest OTT deal has been for the highly awaited sequel Pushpa 2, starring Allu Arjun, which has broken sales records. Netflix purchased the film’s rights for ₹275 crores. This monumental deal highlights the film’s massive expected effect as well as the expanding prominence of OTT platforms in Indian cinema.
