Emily Cooper (played by Lily Collins) isn’t done with her adventures in Rome just yet! Emily in Paris has officially been renewed for a fifth season.
“We’re overjoyed with the overwhelming response to this season and can’t wait to continue Emily’s journey in both Rome and Paris,” series creator Darren Star shared with Tudum.
Season 4 saw Emily embarking on a new romance with Marcello, an Italian fashion heir, and relocating to Rome to help open a new branch of Agence Grateau. Despite this shift, the show’s title will remain unchanged. Star clarified, “Emily’s presence in Rome won’t take away from her time in Paris; both cities will play a role in her story.”
The decision to bring Emily to Italy came from Star’s desire to surprise viewers by taking the show to fresh and unexpected places, while also expanding its global appeal.
Lily Collins confirmed the Season 5 renewal during an appearance on Good Morning America. She expressed excitement about the growing relationship between her character and Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini. “Marcello offers Emily a new adventure, helping her find a better work-life balance,” Collins explained. “He comes into her life at the perfect time, giving her a chance to smile without any reservations.”
Star also hinted that the romance between Emily and Marcello will be a major focus in Season 5. “There’s a real spark and deep connection between them, and we’re eager to explore that further next season,” he said.
While an official release date for Season 5 hasn’t been announced, fans might have to wait a while. With Season 3 debuting in December 2022 and the most recent season split between August and September 2023, it’s likely that Season 5 will premiere sometime in 2026.
As for the cast, fans can expect to see familiar faces return. Lily Collins will be back as Emily, alongside Ashley Park (Mindy), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Samuel Arnold (Julien), and Bruno Gouery (Luc). Additional cast members may include Camille Razat (Camille), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), William Abadie (Antoine), Paul Forman (Nicolas), and Kevin Dias (Benoît). Season 4 also introduced new characters like Laurent’s daughter Genevieve (Thalia Besson) and Marcello, who will likely play key roles moving forward.
