Alia Bhatt Compares Vedang Raina to Ranbir Singh
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt, in a recent conversation with Jr NTR and filmmaker Karan Johar, opened up about her experience working with Vedang on Jigra, where they play siblings. Bhatt was full of praise for Vedang, likening his dedication and passion to that of her Gully Boy co-star, Ranveer Singh. “Vedang is phenomenal,” Bhatt gushed. “He doesn’t even realize how incredible he is. During an emotional scene where he had to cry, I told him that it’s rare to cry so beautifully, which is perfect for a Hindi film hero. His commitment and intuition remind me a lot of Ranveer.”
She continued, “It’s not just his work ethic—Vedang has a deeply rooted soul. Vasan [Bala] and I would often talk about how he’s an old soul, despite being younger than me. He carries a wisdom beyond his years, and I’m confident that his depth will propel him to great heights.”
Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra tells the poignant story of a sister’s fierce love and her unbreakable resolve to protect her brother at all costs. The film also features Manoj Pahwa and is co-produced by Alia Bhatt and her sister Shaheen Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions, along with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. With such an emotional and thrilling premise, Jigra promises to be a rollercoaster of sibling love and dramatic tension.
