Oscar-winning director Robert Zemeckis, alongside stars Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, is set to release their latest collaboration, Here, in India on November 8. This marks the first significant project the trio has worked on together since their acclaimed film Forrest Gump, which won multiple Oscars in 1994 and was based on Winston Groom‘s 1986 novel. The upcoming film also features performances from Paul Bettany, Kelly Reilly, and Michelle Dockery, as it weaves together the narratives of various families across generations, all connected by a cherished location.
Here will premiere globally at the American Film Institute Festival on October 25 and will hit theatres in the U.S. on November 1. Zemeckis not only directed but also co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Roth. Hanks produced the film through his production company Playtone, alongside Zemeckis’ ImageMovers, TriStar Pictures, and Miramax.
About Tom Hanks’ Here:
In a recent conversation with Vanity Fair, Zemeckis highlighted the film’s innovative narrative style, describing it as revolutionary. The use of a fixed camera perspective offers a distinctive lens on the story, emphasizing the fleeting nature of time and life. Zemeckis expressed his enthusiasm for delving into themes of mortality and transformation through this experimental filmmaking approach.
The film’s success heavily relies on the performances of Hanks and Wright. Hanks utilizes a blend of makeup and digital technology to depict his character’s journey from youth to old age, while Wright captures the essence of her character through various life stages, transitioning from a young woman to a wise matriarch.
