Olga Kurylenko ExplainsThe Asterisk Added To The Marvel Thunderbolts*
Olga Kurylenko is all set to reprise her role as the Taskmaster from Black Widow. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, she was asked about the reasoning behind the asterisk to the Thunderbolts title. Choosing her words very carefully, Kurylenko replied, “Well, they changed a couple of things. That’s all I can say, but that also doesn’t say anything, because obviously every movie is different, and in every movie, things change. But yeah, it will be different, we’ll see. There’s nothing I can say.”
Kurylenko is set to star in Thunderbolts which is set to release on May 2, 2025. The film will be directed by Jake Schreier and stars an ensemble cast featuring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russel, Hannah John-Kamen, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, David Harbour, and Geraldine Viswanathan. The film is about a group of antiheroes who go on missions for the American government. Thunderbolts* will be the last film of MCU Phase 5.
Robert Downey Jr Credits Spider-Man Star Tobey Maguire In Him Agreeing To Do Marvel’s Iron Man
Robert Downey Jr. is all set to make his comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe but not as Iron Man. During the 2024 San Diego Comic Con the Russo brothers, who will be directing the next Avengers film, announced that Downey will be starring in the film as Victor Von Doom aka Doctor Doom.
While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Downey credited the success of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man and Toby Maguire’s portrayal as a reason for convincing him to take the role of Iron Man. He said, “In real-time, I saw how difficult they were, how rewarding they could be, and how popular (comic book films) were becoming.”
He added, “I had been clean long enough…hungry even longer and I could feel [the] obsession coming back with manifesting the best version of myself. I had strangely been furiously strength training six times a week before I even knew [this role] was coming…and my shrink had told me ‘Just start acting like something great is gonna happen and get ready for it'”
Aside from MCU, Downey was last seen in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer as Lewis Strauss for which he won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a BAFTA. He was also nominated for his role in the miniseries The Sympathiser which is based on a Pulitzer-Prize winning novel of the same name by Viet Thanh Nguyen.
