Close to 50% of shooting for Prabhas’ The Raja Saab has been completed with reports of the next shooting schedule beginning towards the end of August in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Jr NTR’s Devara Part 1 has completed shooting.
The Raja Saab is an upcoming Telegu-language horror-comedy film starring Prabhas alongside Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, and Malavika Mohanan. The film is written and directed by Maruthi and is expected to be released theatrically by April 2025. The project started development in 2022 and by February 2024 completed around 50% of its principal photography. Prabhas is gearing up to shoot the next schedule on the film which is set in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, Devara Part 1 director and Jr NTR announced this week that shooting has wrapped, including “patchwork.” The team will soon undertake the postproduction process and try to complete the picture on time. Devara: Part 1 is an action drama written and directed by Koratala Siva. The film stars Jr NTR in the titular role alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Narain, Shine Tom Chacko, and Srikanth.
Prabhas Recently Changed His Overall Appearance For The Raja Saab
In Prabhas‘ recent outings in Salaar and Kalki, he had a rugged macho action hero type of look. However, since The Raja Saab is a romantic horror-comedy, Prabhas had to undergo a transformation to look handsome and flamboyant. In the film, Prabhas will romance two heroines. In the upcoming schedule, Prabhas will act against Malavika Mohsnan and Niddhi Agerwal, with both of them playing ultra-glamorous roles.
Malavika Mohanan recently opened up about her Telegu debut in an interview and spoke about Prabhas. In the interview, she praised Prabhas’ humbleness and said that the back-to-back success of Salaar and Kalki hasn’t “changed him one bit.” She added, “I began working with Prabhas on Raja Saab well before Kalki was released. Even back then, he was incredibly humble, and that hasn’t changed one bit. After the success of Kalki, he’s still the same down-to-earth person, just even more happy and excited about his work.”
She continued, “The energy he brings to the set is infectious, and it’s only amplified post-Kalki. He’s very welcoming, and working with him has made my entry into the Telugu industry truly special. The entire team has been supportive, and we’ve shared many laughs on set, which I believe will shine through in the film.”
In Devara: Part 1 Jr. NTR Will Play A Dual Role
Jr. NTR has finished shooting for his role in Koratala Siva’s Devara: Part 1. With the shooting complete, the film enters post-production and gears for its slated 27 September release date, which is in a month. In the film, NTR will be playing two different and distinct roles. Janhvi Kapoor will portray the protagonist’s lover whereas the other female lead will be played by Shruti Marathe.
Devara: Part 1 is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year and has generated a lot of buzz across all regions with its viral son “Chuttamalle” featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Jr. NTR. The film’s soundtrack and score will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla shared her excitement about working in South Indian cinema. She praised the South Indian film industry’s dedication to filmmaking by treating the film as a true work of art. She said, “They really give it that respect, scale, and magnitude. They have so much conviction in their storytelling.”
She spoke highly of Jr. NTR by saying, “His energy is contagious and I recently shot for a song with him, the speed at which he picks steps is unheard of. I’m here learning the same for 10 days and he just learns it all in a second. Even in his takes, he’s just alive on camera.”
