Hoshi of Seventeen & Karina of Aespa Currently Shooting for KBS’s ‘Synchro U’

Seventeen Update: South Korean media outlet Xports News has just confirmed the release date of the highly anticipated music variety program “Synchro U.” “Synchro U” is expected to premiere on September 16 during the Chuseok holiday.

The release date of the music variety show “Synchro U” has been announced.

On August 27, KBS announced that “Synchro U” will premiere on September 16, featuring Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Juck, Lee Yong Jin, SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi, aespa’s Karina, and Jonathan as hosts.

“Synchro U” is a unique music variety program where the hosts aim to uncover the real top artists performing cover songs among AI vocals that boast a 99 percent synchronization rate.

Following a successful pilot episode in May, “Synchro U” was officially approved to become a regular show in June. Although BTOB’s Yook Sungjae was initially part of the hosting lineup and tried to adjust his schedule to rejoin, it has now been confirmed that Jonathan will be replacing him.

The first episode of “Synchro U” will be broadcast during the Chuseok holiday on September 16 at 6:40 p.m. KST, with subsequent episodes airing every Monday at 8:30 p.m. KST.

Original cast of “Synchro U” to return; Yook Sungjae in talks to rejoin

All the original cast members of “Synchro U” are expected to return for the show’s regular run. On July 12, KBS confirmed that aespa’s Karina, Lee Juck, Lee Yong Jin, and SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi will be returning. They also mentioned that BTOB’s Yook Sungjae is currently working on adjusting his schedule and is still in discussions about rejoining the cast.

Earlier, on June 17, KBS announced that after airing two pilot episodes in May, “Synchro U” had been confirmed as a regular series, with MC Yoo Jae Suk leading the show. “Synchro U” is a music variety program where Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Juck, Lee Yong Jin, BTOB’s Yook Sungjae, SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi, and aespa’s Karina work together to identify real top artists performing cover songs, differentiating them from AI vocals that have a striking 99 percent synchronization rate.
