Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, accompanied by his wife Anupama Chopra at the IIFA 2024 event, revealed the title of his upcoming project: Zero Se Restart, a prequel to the 2023 hit film 12th Fail, starring Vikrant Massey.
Chopra took a moment to address the media during the event, sharing his thoughts on submitting 12th Fail for the Oscars. “Awards aren’t my focus. Honestly, I’m here at IIFA because of my wife, Anupama. The real reward for me is in making a film that, when finished, I can either confidently say ‘I got it right,’ or reflect, ‘That didn’t work as I’d hoped,'” Chopra explained.
12th Fail Prequel
12th Fail, directed by Chopra, is adapted from the book by Anurag Pathak and chronicles the life of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who triumphed over severe poverty to become an IPS officer. The film also highlights the pivotal role played by his wife, IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, in his success. Vikrant Massey’s portrayal of Sharma earned widespread acclaim for his compelling performance. Zero Se Restart is set to premiere on December 13 and will continue with the same cast, giving fans more insight into the story that captivated audiences.
What is Zero Se Restart About?
In Zero Se Restart, the narrative will dig deeper into Manoj’s journey, offering audiences more context on his early struggles and persistence. The film, featuring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar in key roles, will explore new dimensions of this inspiring story of grit and resilience.
Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, 12th Fail remains a source of inspiration, and fans eagerly anticipate the prequel as it continues this remarkable story of overcoming the odds.
