Mirzapur Movie: Will Hrithik Roshan Replace Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya?

Mirzapur: The Instantbollywood Instagram page made a post yesterday speculating that the makers of Amazon Prime’s hit show Mirzapur are planning on turning the story into a movie. According to the post, reports suggest that Hrithik Roshan is being considered for the role of Kaleen Bhaiya, originally played by Pankaj Tripathi.

The series’ director, Gurmeet Singh spoke to Dainik Bhaskar about the ongoing rumours. Although he didn’t confirm or deny the claims, he hinted that the production house behind the hit series are working on something interesting. “There hasn’t been any official announcement yet. The producers and studio are involved in this decision, and they will provide the official statement. Only then can everything become clearer. So, at this moment, I can’t give you a definite yes or no,” he told the publication. “As for Hrithik, the same response applies — until the higher authorities say something, I can’t reveal anything,” he added.

Fans are not happy with Hrithik Roshan’s casting as Kaleen Bhaiya

The news of Hrithik possibly starring as Kaleen in the film has not gone down well with social media users. Several fans has rejected the idea. “Some reports suggest Hrithik may do a Kaleen Bhaiyya adaptation. If true,I don’t get why he’d consider roles already owned by other actors. It’s a great character, but we want to see him shine in original roles where he can make his mark!” a social media user wrote. “This is how they snatch popular roles from other actors once the character is made popular by the original actor,” added another.

A redditor remarked on the speculation, “This dude looks way to elite to do any desi roles lol movie already is flop if he does such roles … not a trace of villager in his look just like he didn’t fit in to that teacher role and wanted to stick it to the rich people in that role.. he is not like manoj bajpay who can go back and forth on all types of role..” Safe to say people are not happy with this.

What are your thoughts on this casting?
