Shah Rukh Khan is set to lead the upcoming action thriller King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh. This highly anticipated film will feature the Bollywood superstar alongside his daughter, Suhana Khan, in a father-daughter duo inspired by the iconic film Leon: The Professional.
During a live session at the 77th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, where he received the prestigious Pardo Alla Carriera Award, Khan shared updates about King. The film, scheduled for a 2025 release, is already creating a buzz for its intense storyline and Khan’s collaboration with Sujoy Ghosh. Fans are eagerly anticipating what promises to be a thrilling cinematic experience.
On the topic of King, Shah Rukh Khan said, “…. (King) directed by Sujoy Ghosh Kahaani and creatively produced by Siddharth Anand, who made Pathaan. It is an action drama, it’s a Hindi film. It’ll be interesting. I’ve been wanting to do a film like that for some time, and I really wanted to do a film like this for seven, eight years. We just felt Sujoy would be the right choice, because we wanted it to be very emotionally correct. We are all coming together to make a cool, massy, action, emotional film.”
King 2025: Plot of Shahrukh and Suhana’s Movie
King tells the gripping story of a mentor and his disciple as they navigate dangerous challenges and harsh environments, testing their survival skills to the extreme. Shah Rukh Khan’s powerful performance is expected to be a highlight of the film, which also stars Abhay Verma and Abhishek Bachchan in significant roles.
Khan, in a different interview stated that after doing Jawan and Dunki, he wanted to commit to an age-centric. The actor wished to do a project that could be social commentary or a comedy and spoke to Sujoy Ghosh (Kahaani) about such. Khan added, I just put it out in the air, I meet a couple of people, some of them have a subject, I hear it, I spend time with them and we just go ahead and make the film.” King would be the first film in which Khan will act alongside his daughter, Suhana. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan in a negative role.
