The infamous Vertical Self-Management Center, or “The Pit,” returns in this new chapter. Just like in the first film, the prison operates with a descending platform carrying food that’s meant to be shared among inmates across hundreds of floors. Many prisoners end up here voluntarily, trading their participation for perks like reduced sentences or degrees. Each inmate gets only seconds to eat from the platform before it moves to the next level below.
The catch? Every few weeks, the prisoners change floors, with those on the upper levels enjoying fresh, abundant food, while those on the lower levels may face starvation—or worse, resort to desperate measures like cannibalism. In an attempt to maintain fairness, a new system is introduced where each prisoner can only eat their favorite food from the platform. But as tension rises, rules are broken, leading to chaos. As rebellion brews, a powerful figure emerges, determined to restore order—no matter the cost.
