Nani Shuts Down Janhvi Kapoor Casting Rumors: What’s Really Going On with Nani33?

It has been speculated that Janhvi Kapoor is all set to join actor Nani’s 33rd film which will be directed by Srikanth Odela. If the rumor is true, then this will be Kapoor’s 3rd outing in a Telegu film. Recently, Nani posted a teaser for Nani33 on his socials.

Ghanta Naveen Babu, professionally known as Nani, recently announced his newest project, which will also be his 33rd film called Nani33. The movie was announced on the one-year anniversary of Nani’s superhit film, Dasara by director Srikanth Odela. Nani33 is expected to be released in the summer of 2025. Neither Odela nor Nani have confirmed the other actors appearing in the film. However, it is being speculated that Janhvi Kapoor will play Nani’s love interest in the film.

Nani Clarifies Rumors Surrounding Kapoor’s Casting

During an interview, Nani set the record straight and exclaimed that Kapoor hadn’t been officially brought on board. “It’s just a rumor,” stated the actor. Adding, “Some discussions might be happening, but I believe even the narration hasn’t been completed yet. I’m tied up with other shoots, so I’m not fully aware of all the details.”

If Janhvi Kapoor agrees to play a role in Nani 33, then it will be her third film in a Telegu film. Currently, Kapoor is filming on Jr. NTR’s Devara and will follow it up with Ram Charan’s 16th film. Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in the spy-thriller Ulajh. Ulajh was directed by Sudanshu Saria and stars Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Meiyang Chang, and Sachin Khedekar.

Meanwhile, Nani is on a press junket for the release of his film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, set to release on August 29th. He was last seen in ‘Hi Nanna,’ a romantic drama in which he plays a single father struggling with his daughter’s illness.

Nani Expresses His Admiration for Amitabh Bachchan

In an interview with PTI (Press Trust Of India), Nani said, “I’ve watched a lot more Hindi films than people who live here (in the north). There are some amazing directors that I want to work with every time I see (their work). I’m a huge fan of Bachchan sir. My interest towards movies and wanting to make a film… Then even with the performance, Agneepath played a big role in the later part. Like, when I wanted a certain intensity for the character… I always looked for a script like Agneepth, that was one childhood thing for me.”

Nani spoke more about the influence of Agneepath on his life by adding, “The film not only turned the actor into a movie buff but also inspired him to pen a couple of stories, including a thriller.” This is the first film which I wanted to make (as a director) when I was an assistant director, which I’ve never made…I still have the story, and then I’ve two or three more stories, which have to be adapted to the current times. There are a couple of directors who I’ve worked with, who know the basic idea about it, they are always like, ‘Let’s do it’,”
