Appreciated for its thrilling, fast-paced action sequences. BLOCKBUSTER STATUS LOADING! The #GOAT — Venkat Prabhu.” The uncut version of ‘GOAT’ will be available in theatres across the UK, and the film has peaked well in the presales. Vijay’s film reportedly earned close to $500K from the UK premiere
GOAT Director Justifies 3-Hour Runtime
In a recent interview with Cineulagam, director Venkat Prabhu expressed his thoughts about the three-hour runtime of GOAT. He said that the film is a fast-paced action film. He said that even his team was apprehensive about the three-hour runtime, however, Prabhu stuck to his guns. He promises that the film will be entertaining and fast-paced.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Venkat Prabhu called the process of making GOAT ‘wonderful.’ He said, “initially, I was a bit scared, but he made me feel extremely comfortable and after a few days, I was my usual self. He (Vijay) is someone who is so professional and comes prepared to the set. He is very observant and he’ll be sitting quietly looking around him on set. And when he comes in front of the camera and you call action, he just becomes so energetic and delivers a perfect shot. This is quite remarkable.”
He continues, ” in GOAT, he plays two roles – one character is quieter and the other is extremely active and he embodies both I think. Vijay never got into any aspect of the story or asked for any kind of changes – I have made the movie I envisioned. One surprise I can reveal to you is that we have remixed an Ilayaraaja song in this film for Vijay, and it’s fantastic. Watch it and let me know.”
In the same interview, Prabhu also declared that Vijay’s GOAT will be just as memorable as Ajith’s Mankatha. When asked about the difference in the writing approach for each film, he said, “It (Mankatha) was a crime thriller, one particular genre. GOAT, on the other hand, is a wholesome family entertainer. Vijay has a strong family audience following, and this movie encompasses everything from sentiment to comedy to action to romance to songs. In fact, GOAT is my first commercial entertainer in cinema.”
Tamil Nadu Government Issues Restrictions Before GOAT Release
As Vijay’s GOAT is set to release across theatres in Tamil, Telegu, and Hindi, the Tamil Nadu government has reportedly issued a restriction to theatres across major cities in the state. The TN government has restricted the government from having tall cutouts or banners in front of their arenas. Fans expressed their shock over this announcement as the restriction might prevent them from expressing their love for their favourite actor.
